S/V Inishnee

S V Inishnee / Passport 40
She is named after a place in Ireland: Inishnee, near Round Stone, County Galway. Inishnee means  the Island of Nee in Irish.  The "Nee" family of which we are part of, is from this area.

Sutton Bay, Michigan

We took possession our 1987 Passport 40 July 8, 2009 in  Panama City, Florida. We played with her for a long weekend, then prepared her for overland transport  to our home port Saugatuck, MI.  Since then, we have been retrofitting and modifying the systems on board to suit our needs for living aboard.  Many hours and 'boat units' have passed under and through the kneel since then.  We replaced all rigging, wiring, hoses and lines.  Dripless shaft installed and all through hulls replaced.  She got a new bottom, like a facial for boats, but LOTS more expensive!  AIS, chart plotter, batteries and monitors added.  Electronics for navigation, yippee!   EPIRB and Life Raft on board.    Solar panels installed.  If it moved, squeaked or should have... Jim 'fixed' it.  Even the kitchen opps.. 'galley' sink got a makeover.

waiting to launch for the final time in Saugatuck MI
sailing the waters of Lake Michigan

She is a cutter rig.  New:  Main Sail, Jib, Spinnaker  and Storm Stay'sil.

Nothing left to do but to throw off the lines and set off for new adventures...
hope you come along for the ride

  2. Greetings! My name is Jim Melton, and I am the keeper of the Passport database (P37, P40, P41, P42, and P47). I do not have Inishnee in my database, and I think that she might be one of the few Passport 40s that are still missing from the database.

    I would be extremely grateful if you would be willing to provide the following information to help me fill in a blank in the database:

    * Full hull ID (very likely of the form PYK40nnnmmyy, where nnn is the null number and mmyy is the month and year of manufacture. (I think it's possible that Inishnee is hull number 132 or 135, as those are the only two 1987 P40s that are missing from my database.)
    * If she is documented by the United States Coast Guard, the documentation number.
    * Her hailing port.
    * Whatever contact information you're willing to provide (I will keep any or all of this contact information private upon request), including postal address, email address, phone number, whatever.
    * Any information you wish to provide about Inishnee, including cabin layout, mast step, decks, prior names and owners, other history, etc. Again, if you want any of this kept private, just tell me so.

    Thanks!
    Jim
