7.1.11 Eve of departure: Tower Marina, Saugatuck, MI

Well, we are loaded down and ready to cast off tomorrow at 7am.  We had a nice evening on board at port with friends and family to wish us well and toast our adventure as well as several phone calls from friends.  The weather appears to be cooperating for  tomorrow after todays deluge of rain, no need to wash off the bird poo!  Not sure if we will sail through the night Saturday or go to port, the Captain and the Admiral are still debating.  I guess we'll wait and see what the day holds.

    Hey Guys,

    I truly hope you got all that predicted SW'ly wind because we had none to sail with. Towards the later half of the afternoon, around 1500 hrs, we had a wind shift to the NW and some good wind came along but it was too late to take advantage of it as we were entering Alpena.
